About Pedregulho

We moved from England to Caldeirinhas in November 2017.

Pedregulho at that time was mainly disused animal sheds downstairs and abandoned, semi- derelict living accommodation upstairs.

We fell in love with the property on sight, and set about making it our home.

12 months later, after what we affectionately refer to as a “labour of love”, we were able to move in to what is now our home.

During the renovations, we lived in what is now the guest apartmet. It was very basic, but just about liveable.

We had lots of help from family and friends with the work we had to do, we had a lot of fun, and the spirit of Pedregulho was born.

After moving in to our new home, we found that we, and others, somehow missed “the old house”

Following the advice of many who stayed with us, we have kept it as traditional as possible, with just the necessary repairs and decoration undertaken.

Our hope is that we can still pay due respect to the old house for the fun it gave us whilst we lived there and that we can provide an authentic Portuguese rural village experience for others.

The village and surrounding areas are full of opportunities for sightseeing, activities and relaxation.

We think there is something here for everyone, and hope people enjoy the village and the area as much as we do.
